SUMMER 2012

Activity #13 (James Rodeo B. Ty)

Back when I was young, I really looked forward to have summer. Not much changed when I got older, I still want summer, and sometimes I want it to start sooner. We visit a different place every summer. Last summer we went to Cebu. The summer before that, we went to Palawan. And we went to Bohol the summer before that. I don’t remember anything before that.

I look forward to summer this year. Especially because I want to leave school. But, for some reason you might not understand, I don’t want to. Well, I want to, but I don’t want to leave my classmates. I may not be friends with a lot of them, but even though we’re not friends, I know I’ll still miss having them around me. They made my day less boring. So I’m really going to miss them this summer.

My family hasn’t planned out for this summer. They told me that we might go to back to Cebu this year. I’m not complaining or anything, but I’d rather be at home. During summer, I don’t really do much. I just stay at home and use the computer. But since I have friends now, maybe I’ll have the guts to ask them to hang out, or they invite me to do something with them. That’s not usually the case since I doubt anyone will remember me this summer.

Like I said, I usually spend the summer at home, using the computer. But I don’t just use the internet. Sometimes I write stories and do other hobbies. I don’t really look forward to swimming at the beach. I hate salty water. But I don’t mind swimming at the pool.

As you can see, my summer really isn’t something you can look forward too. But I do. My summer isn’t much, and we all only get one every year. So make the best out of it.

My Dream

Activity #12 (James Rodeo B. Ty)

A dream is something that you achieve. Once you do, it makes you feel important, successful and good. Dreams are something that you work hard for and not something you can just get right away. You have to earn it.

I have a dream. Or at least, I think I had one. When I was young, I had a lot of dreams. One of them was being the first boy to travel in space. But then I lost interest in that. After that, I lost sight of my dream. Up until now, I still don’t know where I want to go with life. They say that we just go to school to prepare us for what’s waiting for us outside. Outside, our dream is there; waiting for us to achieve it. Now, I just go through school, not caring for my dream. I don’t even think I have anything I can dream about when I’m finished with school. But recently, I’ve been doing a hobby that could be a dream one day. Most people dream of becoming famous or rich in some way. Me? I dream for something else.

I started to make comics back then. They were just simple stick figures, but with personality that of other people. I made them just for fun. So I made a website (mini-website) where I could post them and everyone could see. At first, it didn’t get that much attention. But it started to get more and more attention and soon, a bigger audience appeared and wanted more. Of course, I stopped because for personal reasons. So becoming a webcomic artist wasn’t a dream for me.

So I began doing a new hobby. Writing. At first, I just wrote a story and uploaded it to get some feedback. But it didn’t just get feedback, it got attention. And I got more and more as each new chapter I made. This could be a dream that I could strive for. But then, I began to lose interest in it too. My stories were just another way to mirror my life in the form of words. And lately, life isn’t as much interesting as it was back then.

So here is my last hobby. Animating. I just began doing it last year. The internet taught me how. I finished my first animation of a stick figure dancing. It was nice, I guess. I wanted to do more, but I didn’t have the time to do it. Maybe, when I’m older, or in the summer, I could find the time into making more than just a simple animation.

We all have our dreams, and I just shared the three possible ones that I could have. But I realized, the world is full of possibilities and dreams that I could achieve. For now, this is all I could tell. But what about you? What’s your dream?
